That's the whole arrangement, really. We take care of each other. Not only when the weather's kind or when we've got plenty to give, but through the leaving, the worry, the days that ask more than we expected. Call it love, call it family. I want it to be something you can count on without asking twice.

WE TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER

We take care of each other
If it's the last thing we do
We take care of each other
You love me and I love you
We are meant to be together
On the long road to forever
And if Tomorrow never comes
You'll still be my only one

A time to go, a time to stay
A time to get out of the way
A Time to know, a time to pray
For today and yesterday
But when at last a new day comes
Ocean waves and rising Sun
Lovers loving everyone
Learn to fly before you run

We take care of each other
We are meant to be together
In the garden of forever
Never take another lover
We take care of each other
I'm her brother and her lover
She's my sister when I kiss her
When I gotta go, I miss her

You're so very far behind us
If you think that you can find us
Maybe you better never mind us
Cuz we're already gone
Listen closely to the words
A comin’ down the line
They were written long ago
By a very good friend of mine

Where the voices lead we follow
From on the Mead into the Hollow
If you beg or steal or borrow
Please come with me tomorrow
Let the wind blow us away
We were never here to stay
Like dust and ashes on the breeze
Like voices in the willow trees

We take care of each other
We are meant to be together
In the garden of forever
Never take another lover
We take care of each other
I'm her brother and her lover
She's my sister when I kiss her
When I gotta go, miss her

We take care of each other
There will never be another
I look after you
And you look after me
That's just what we do
Loving you eternally
Forever yours, forever mine
Lay down by the water line

OUTRO:
Cuz we take care of each other
Oh babe, we take care of each other
We take care of each other
Yeah baby, we take care of each other
